The Boston Celtics Finish Their Road Trip with a Win over the Sacramento Kings

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combine for 63 points as the Boston Celtics defeat the Sacramento Kings 132-109 on Tuesday night. The win marks the Celtics’ 50th victory on the season and they go 4-2 in their six-game road trip.

It was a very balanced effort from Boston as all five starters scored in double figures. Derrick White had 19 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists and he had some big plays defensively.

The Sacramento Kings had a strong start to the game feeding the ball to Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis had 9 points (FG 4-5), 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the first quarter.

The momentum shifted when the Celtics went on a 12-2 run to take a 42-39 lead in the second quarter with two big threes from Jaylen Brown. Boston came out of the first quarter with a quicker pace and a little more urgency.

With 1.2 seconds remaining in the half, Tatum tacked on a three-point play with a strong drive to the rim, converting the layup while drawing a foul on Kessler Edwards.

At the half, Boston led Sacramento 60-54. Jayson Tatum led both teams in points at the break with 22 (FG 8-13, FT 4-6).

The Celtics continued the game strong in the second half and built up their largest lead of the game of 27 points with a Sam Hauser three with 2:37 remaining in the game.

In their previous game against the Jazz, the Celtics blew a 19-point lead and ended up losing in a nailbiter 118-117.

However, against the Kings they kept their composure and closed out the game with great ball movement and good shot selection. Boston finished with 33 assists and only five turnovers for the game.

Celtics finish their road trip on a positive note getting the victory and will face the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
